We are overjoyed to announce today that we have found our next great operator of the Osprey Mountain Grill! Our new operators name is Glenn Rosales, who hails from the Philippines and became passionate about cooking at a very young age while learning from his grandmother. Glenn has been working in the industry professionally for that past 12 years including the past three at the beautiful Marzano restaurant in Nelson. Glenn and his wife moved to the area three years ago (and have since been blessed with a baby girl) to formalize his education through the Selkirk College Culinary Program. Prior to their move, Glenn spent many years in the position of Sous Chef at a variety of restaurants throughout Singapore and will be departing Marzano with the title of Kitchen Supervisor.
Glenn has always envisioned himself operating his own restaurant and is extremely excited to be joining the community of Balfour with a vision of being here for many years to come. Glenn loves to combine flavours from different cuisines to create delicious, hearty meals and as a first time restaurant owner, is extremely excited to share the food that he is passionate about with our community.
It goes without saying that 2024 will be a year of transition for Glenn as a start up restaurant owner and he will need time to get his operation dialed in for what is shaping up to be an amazing year in Balfour. His aim will be to have a soft opening with a limited menu and reduced hours in May with an eye to opening a full menu and hours by June. Glenn will be operating a 'cafeteria style' (ie. without table service) restaurant with the potential to add table service in the summer should demand dictate. Glenn has experience in our area through his pop up dinners offered over the past couple of years at the Proctor Bakery and intends to be available for catering your next function, whether it be a smaller gathering at the golf course, somewhat larger gathering at the Balfour Community Hall or an off-site gathering elsewhere in our area!
We'll continue sharing updates regarding start up and menu selection as things begin to take shape over the next couple of months. We very much look forward to the time when you'll be able to come for a meal and welcome Glenn and his family to our beautiful area!
