Men's Night

The Balfour Golf Course hosts a very popular Men's Night every Tuesday afternoon typically starting mid to late April running through to the end of September. 2025 is going to see the ramping up of the team format that we successfully introduced last year! Below you'll find information on what to expect from our Men's Nights this year, and don't forget about the MEN'S NIGHT RECIPROCAL PASS that we introduced last season! Details on this pass can be found via the button below and we'd greatly appreciate it if your could help spread the word to golfers you know who are Members of other area courses!

Annual Men's Club Membership - $25

$5 discount on weekly Men's Night entry
Required to be eligible for Team Competition
Opportunity to create a standing tee time for every Tuesday Men's Night
Inclusion in season long Ringer Board and Participation prizes
MUST have Golf Canada Membership

Men's Night Standard Format

Weekly Entry - $20 MC Members, $25 non-member
Tee times after 11:00 am only
A move back to use of Golf Canada Handicap Indexes
Fixed Flights & tee boxes based on Golf Canada Indexes as follows:: - updated for 2025
- BLUE TEE'S - 9.9 Golf Canada index or lower
- COMBO BLUE/WHITE TEE'S - 10.0 - 17.7 Golf Canada index
- WHITE TEE'S - 17.8 Golf Canada or higher
  - Participants may MOVE BACK a tee or two if they wish
  - Participants 70 years or older may play white tee's regardless of index
Team winnings, Gross & Net prize,via Merchandise Credit
Deuces, Skins & Honey Pot via account credit
- Minimum 30 players in order for any carry over pots to pay out
Optional optional gift card raffle draw

Men's Night Individual Games

Three Flights based on Golf Canada index as seen above
Prizes awarded to top one gross and up to top five net based on size of field
Four KP's with one dedicated to each handicap range and one open KP per week

Deuce Pot
Honey Pot - must be a Men's Club Member with the stand alone deuce (or better) on the designated par three hole for the week. Our Honey Pot hole will rotate through our par three holes each time the pot is won and will cap when it hits $250. Honey Pot contributions once it stands at $250 will be directed toward establishing a Men's Night ACE pot which will pay $200 bar credit & $50 Golf Shop Merchandise credit each time an ace is made by a Men's Club Member during Men's Night play.

Men's Night Team Game

Based on the number of Men's Club Members, teams will be made up of 8 - 12 players each
Team Names will remain the same as 2024 and will be formed following using the following method:
- Top 3 in participation points from 2024 will remain on their respective teams
- Remaining players will be placed on teams based handicap index with emphasis placed on a balanced total team index
Each weeks team game will consist of head to head match up's where ONE gross score and THREE net scores will comprise the team score.
Teams will be awarded 10 points for each winning week PLUS 1 PARTICIPATION POINT for each team member playing.
SCHEDULE
- Pre-Team Individual Men's Night - April 8, 15 & 22 - player recruitment, index creation & trash talking time period
- Regular Season - April 29 through August 26 - head to head matches where teams accumulate points via winning matches and player participation
- Play Offs - September 2, 9 & 16
- Post-Team Silly Season - September 23, 30, October 7 & 14 - details TBA
PLAY OFF'S - three weeks of Head to Head matchups to determine Men's Night Team winners
TEAM PAYOUTS
- Regular Season
  - Team allocation from each paid entry will accumulate and be paid out every four weeks or quarterly within our 16 week regular season
  - Each team member from a winning team will be awarded one 'share' of the team pot for that week
  - Total 'shares' will be calculated every 4 weeks and used to determine the value of each share
  - Team members who play 3 or 4 times within a quarter will a bonus PARTICIPATION share for their comitment to playing most every week
- PLAY OFF'S
  - Weekly Team payouts come to an end with entry fee contribution going to Play Off Pool
  - Play Off Team Payout percentage of total pot
    - 1^st - 35%
    - 2^nd - 20%
    - 3^rd - 15%
    - 4^th - 10%
    - 5^th - 8^th - 5%
  - Team Members must have played a minimum of 8 out of 19 Team Play Men's Night including 1 out of 3 play off events to qualify for shares of their teams Play Off winnings
  - One 'share' in a Teams Play Off winnings will be awarded for each Regular Season and Play Off Men's Night event played so long as the above criteria has been met
